Spend New Year’s Eve at the Comedy Cellar and you’ll be guaranteed a fun night. There are two shows that night, one at 8pm and one at 10:30pm (go to the later one for the New Years countdown with a free glass of champagne). The first show has a $30 cover and the second has a $65 cover, both with a 2 item minimum per person. Enjoy your night out and keep it simple by having your dinner right at the Comedy Cellar. The food is tasty and comes from the Greenwich Village Landmark Cafe upstairs. Some of your favorite comedians will be there like Darrell Hammond and Sherrod Small. The Comedy Cellar on MacDougal street is my favorite comedy club.  It’s super intimate and underground, plus famous comedians are constantly dropping by, surprising the club and audience.  Here is just a small list of comedians who have stopped by recently: Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, Colin Quinn, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Robin Williams, and more!  Every single performer here is hilarious and has been featured on shows such as The Tonight Show, Tough Crowd, Last Comic Standing, and others.  There are at least two shows every night, but I recommend going Thursday-Saturday, as that is when the comedians bring out their best acts, and the audience is livelier.  The Comedy Cellar has dozens and dozens of autographed, framed pictures of comedians on the brick wall that you can see on your way in.  Make sure to reserve your spot by calling or going to their website as the shows fill up fast!
