Fashion’s Night Out is this Friday, September 10th, so check out all the events happening that night and start planning! The Fashion’s Night Out website has a really cool feature where you can add events to “Your Night Out” and it’ll plot everything on a map of the city. Just about every retail store in the city is doing something for the night, and if you went out last year, you know how fun it all was. The streets are flooded with people excited to shop and hang out in the stores. Many stores are serving cocktails and have planned a full night for you. Get ready to meet celebrities, hang out with designers, get special discounts and promotions, party with DJ’s and lots more.

Fashion’s Night Out

Head to Williamsburg one of these summer weekends and get a tour of the Brooklyn Brewery (it’s free1). In the old days, Brooklyn used to have tons of brewery’s, but not so much anymore. Every Saturday and Sunday you can tour the Brooklyn Brewery at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm (minus the 5pm on Sunday’s). Doors open at 12pm and they close at 8pm, so you have the whole day to get there. Before your tour, wait in the bar area where beers are $4 each, or 6 for $20. There are plenty of tables to hang out, and you can ever get lunch delivered!  You’ll find tons of people hanging out, enjoying pizza and beer with their friends. When it’s time for a tour, they’ll call it out and you can go get in line. You’ll see the various equipment they use to brew their beer and learn some fun facts about their history. Their summer ale is out right now, so go and get some on tap!

The Macy’s Fireworks 2010 will be shown on the Hudson River again for the second year in a row! Westsiders are happy, Eastsiders not as much. Whichever side you live on, it’ll be a great half-hour show and it’s suppose to be bigger and better than ever. Make sure you get there early and land yourself a spot where you can see the show (unless you’re one of the lucky ones and can watch from your roof!). Walk to the West side between 23rd and 59th Streets and you’ll have a clear view. It gets very, very crowded, so be warned, otherwise you can always watch the show from your TV. This NYC tradition is what makes the holiday weekend so spectacular, you won’t forget what you did this July 4th!

Check out the Red Bull Air Race this weekend! Tickets are still available for tomorrow June 20th  for standing general admission ($40), which is located in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, New Jersey. It’s sure to be an exciting show with the New York City skyline and Statue of Liberty as a background. With races all around the world, this will be your last chance to see this amazing show unless you’re traveling to Germany, Hungary, or Portugal any time soon. Get your tickets now!!

If you’re looking for a new neighborhood to explore and you’re tired of the city, head to Brooklyn and go to Park Slope! Pretty much every train will take you there, the F, B, Q, M, and the R. Once you’re there, just walk up 5th or 7th Avenue and every restaurant, cafe, or bar you walk into will be amazing. My favorite restaurant is Al Di La, but besides Italian, you’ll find Spanish, Asian, American and everything else that you’re craving. Admire all of the brownstones and enjoy the warm weather in the meantime. Happy Summer!
