The Macy’s Fireworks 2010 will be shown on the Hudson River again for the second year in a row! Westsiders are happy, Eastsiders not as much. Whichever side you live on, it’ll be a great half-hour show and it’s suppose to be bigger and better than ever. Make sure you get there early and land yourself a spot where you can see the show (unless you’re one of the lucky ones and can watch from your roof!). Walk to the West side between 23rd and 59th Streets and you’ll have a clear view. It gets very, very crowded, so be warned, otherwise you can always watch the show from your TV. This NYC tradition is what makes the holiday weekend so spectacular, you won’t forget what you did this July 4th!

The Family Festival Street Fair for the Tribeca Film Festival is tomorrow! It goes from 10am to 6pm and is located on Greenwich Street. The weather is going to be amazing tomorrow, so go out and enjoy the street fair. Walk through the assortment of merchants, restaurants, and performances that go on throughout the day. Get your face painted, do some arts and crafts, and even fly a kite. The Family Festival is always fun, bring all your friends and family for this annual event. There will be a free screening of “Snowmen” (The 2010 Tribeca Film Festival family film) playing at the BMCC Tribeca PAC at 7pm, the line starts at 6pm, so make sure you get there early.

Marie Claire and Birkenstock have teamed up for Walk To Work Day on June 9th, 2010. This is a fundraising event that will give the money to Souls4Soles, who donates shoes to people all over the world. By raising $500, you can provide shoes for a whole village, and if you’re one of the first 200 people to raise $500, you’ll get a free pair of Birkenstocks to walk to work in! Have fun and start raising money!

If you can’t join us for It’s My Park! Day, come out for community volunteering events, such as the City Harvest Greenmarket Team, to collect excess food from farmers and transport these goods to food banks to people in need across the five boroughs.
