Visit the National Museum of the American Indian

Sunday March 21st, 10:29 pm by Serafina.

Located in lower Manhattan, you’ll find the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House, which houses the National Museum of the American Indian. The building is absolutely stunning and the interior will amaze you (especially the rotunda). Admission is free making the museum a fun place to visit when you have some extra time of your hands.  Inside the museum you’ll find exhibits such as A Song for the Horse Nation and Ramp It Up: Skateboard Culture in Native America. Each exhibit is filled with detailed information, photographs and artifacts, some dating back hundreds of years. I especially enjoyed the horse exhibit as it showcased through videos the various types of horses used by certain tribes and how they were used. The exhibits are constantly changing, so go back once in a while to fully understand the culture of the American Indians!
