When visting NYC you may want to check out some of the shops that arent on the tourist maps and in the books. Many of these shops are difficult to find and most locals won’t know the locations. One website has gone out of its way to provide us with a great NYC Underground Shopping Guide. Before coming into the city check out this website and you might find some great stuff that you didn’t think was available in the city. This guide is also great for New Yorkers, I even find myself trying to remmeber where certain small hidden shops are sometimes when I am looking to pick up a great new pair of sneakers. So check out Freshness Guide and enjoy your shopping!

Morimoto’s is located right next to Chelsea Market on 88 10th Avenue, and you can’t miss it with it’s bright red curtains hanging outside. It delivers nothing less than what you would expect from an Iron Chef’s restaurant. If you’re lucky, you might even see Morimoto himself hanging out in the restaurant or outside! This huge restaurant has a top floor, and a lower level with a bar, plus restrooms where the toilets come with many options including ones that massage and clean you. The impressive environment matches the food. You’ll have to get some kind of sushi here, as it is Morimoto’s restaurant. For an appetizer, try the Tuna Pizza that has bluefin tuna, anchovy aioli, and jalapenos on thin bread. It’s something you’ve never tasted before. As for an entree, I recommend the Ishi Yaki Buri Bop that is cooked right at your table. It comes with yellowtail on rice with an amazingly tasty sauce all in a hot stone bowl. Don’t forget to get a Lychee Martini to top it off! Or choose from one of their many Sakes. Enjoy!

A visit to New York City is not complete without seeing an event at Madison Square Garden. Located on 7th Avenue and 32nd Street, you’ll find the World’s Most Famous Arena. Get a tour of the Garden everyday, catch one every half hour between 11am and 3pm. It’ll cost adults $18.50 for a ticket and children 12 and under $12.00. On the tour you’ll get to see the team locker room, learn how the basketball court transforms into ice, and tour the WaMu Theater. You’ll also go down to the floor level of the arena, meet a Knicks City Dancer, and more! MSG has a 130 year history, and you will learn all about it when you go on the tour. While you’re there, get tickets to a basketball, hockey game, concert or a show that is playing. If you’re hungry, stop by the Club Bar & Grill or the Play by Play Sports Bar, both inside the Garden.

Where else can you get a pizza named “The Newman” or “The Dude?” None other than Two Boots (Named after the shapes of Italy and Louisiana)! One of the newest locations is right on Grand Street, called Two Boots Tavern. This specific location of the favorite NYC pizza place has a full bar and five big screen TV’s to enjoy. It’s open at 5pm during the week and noon on the weekends (Their other locations are open all day). Order your favorite pizzas like “Mr. Pink” that has marinated chicken, plum tomatoes, fresh garlic and mozzarella. The “Bayou Beast” has BBQ shrimp, crawfish, andouille, jalapenos, and mozzarella. Not interested in one of their creations? Then make your own! Choose from toppings like artichokes, eggplant, sopressata and more. You’ll also find wings, po’ boys, salads and calzones here, that way everyone is satisfied. The environment is fun, bursting with color. They deliver too!
