Carl’s Steaks is Philly In NYC

Friday January 30th, 10:25 pm by Serafina.

If you’ve been to Philidelphia, you know how good the cheesesteaks are at Geno’s and Pat’s, and since then you’ve probably been craving them.  Head over to Carl’s Steaks on 34th Street and 3rd avenue and I guarantee you will have a flashback.  These Philly Cheesesteaks are made fresh with thin slices of sirloin steak, grilled and put on a hoagie roll that isn’t too soft or hard.  The house rules of how to order are shown on the wall, say what kind of cheese you want (cheese whiz, provolone, or white American) and with or without grilled onions.  Every bite is gooey and delicious, you deserve to treat yourself once in a while, so go grab one!  Don’t forget to get a side of fries if you’re extra hungry.  These sandwiches are big and will keep you stuffed throughout the day.  They’ll run you $6.75 per Philly, not bad for a sandwich that some say is the best in the city!

Chada Brings Thai To Murray Hill

Wednesday January 28th, 10:55 pm by Serafina.

Chada on 2nd avenue was a much needed addition to Murray Hill.  The modernly decorated interior and atmosphere that Chada gives off makes you want to throw a party here (which you can!).  The food is good too, they’ll even deliver for free with a minimum of a $10 order.  The $7 to $10 lunch special is a bargain including an appetizer and a soup, it’ll keep you coming, trying everything on the menu, and trust me there’s a lot.  From your standard pad thai, to cashew nut sautee, theres curry, fried rice, a range of salads, soups, and appetizers.  Plus, they make fresh donuts for dessert, that’ll beat the Dunkin Donuts down the block any day.  The drinks are funky and strong with powerful flavors and fruits.  You know you can’t resist trying a new Thai restaurant, go for it!

Spitzer’s Corner On The Corner

Tuesday January 27th, 9:36 pm by Serafina.

Spitzer’s on Rivington Street draws you in with its prime location on a corner in the LES, its large windows and long, inviting tables.  Their list of beers is very impressive, with over 40 on tap and a bunch more bottled.  Not a beer lover?  They also have a selection of wines that will make you happy.  not only are the drinks good, but the food is always tasty.  Try the sliders that are so tiny you’ll want to put them in your pocket, great for a small meal with a serving size of three.  The mac and cheese with truffle has a certain creaminess to it that will make you not want to put your fork down.  Don’t forget the popular kobe burger with its tender tender meat.  The service isn’t always the fastest, and it does get loud and crowded in here, but it’s a fun spot to hang out at!  Interesting fact: the name Spitzer’s comes from Spitzer’s Dress Shop, which was on that same corner for over 50 years!

Rice to Riches Brings It To Your Door

Sunday January 25th, 7:40 pm by Serafina.

Rice to Riches on Spring Street is the ultimate dessert with rice pudding coming in two dozen flavors and ten toppings, there’s nothing boring at this place.  You might recognize Rice to Riches from the movie Hitch with Will Smith!  A scene in the movie took place right here.  The pudding comes in fun, colorful oval shaped bowls with matching plastic, flat spoons.  My favorite flavor is the Chocolate Chip Flirt and “Category 5″ Caramel.  You can taste as many flavors as you want until you find your perfect match.  Other flavors are Fluent in French Toast, Perfectly Legal Pecan Pie, and Take Me to Tiramisu.  Top it all off with whipped cream, crumbled pound cake, graham crackers and more.  If you’ve never tried rice pudding, this is the place to go, you’ll love it after your first creamy taste.  If you can’t make it to Spring Street, Rice to Riches will happily ship a sumo sized tub of rice pudding to you anywhere in the USA!
